Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and other cities in various regions of the country.
"On March 12, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Pavlodar, Astana, and Almaty," the statement said.
Unfavorable weather conditions result from a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm weather, light wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the lower atmospheric layer.
In Astana, March 12 will see partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. Fog is expected at night and in the morning. Winds from the south at 3-8 meters per second. Temperatures: -13 to -15°C at night, -2 to -4°C during the day.
In Almaty, partly cloudy weather is expected, with no precipitation. Light fog at night and in the morning. Southeastern winds at 3-8 meters per second. Temperatures: around 0°C at night, 11-13°C during the day.
