Healthcare Ministry refuted information on swine flu in South Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s chief sanitary doctor Zhandarbek Bekshin refuted information on swine flu cases detected in South Kazakhstan oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported about three pregnant women diagnosed with H1N1. “We have only registered seasonal flu, only seasonal ones,” Bekshin stressed at the briefing on January 24. “If I’m not mistaken, flu rate went 1.8 times down compared to the last year. Three pregnant women were diagnosed with seasonal flu in South Kazakhstan oblast. They received treatment and were diagnosed in time and sent home.” According to Healthcare Ministry 415 thousand cases of seasonal flu were registered in Kazakhstan from the beginning of the flu season; 17 thousand of them were hospitalized.
