Tengrinews.kz – Two Kazakhstani companies have been included in the European Union's sanctions list. The Ministry of Trade and Integration provided details about them.
In response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz, the Ministry of Trade reported that the 16th package of EU sanctions includes two Kazakhstani companies: MetallStan LLP and KAZSTANEX LLP.
"The inclusion of Kazakhstani companies in the EU sanctions list will lead to the freezing of their assets, if any, within the EU, as well as a ban on financial transactions and trade with individuals and legal entities from the EU," the ministry stated.
The Ministry of Trade emphasized that, according to the EU, these companies may be involved in supplying sanctioned goods to Russia. However, the ministry's press service assured that the inclusion of these companies in the EU sanctions list does not have any consequences for Kazakhstan's economy.
The headquarters of KAZSTANEX LLP is located in Almaty, with an additional office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The company is one of the leading global manufacturers of machine tools and industrial equipment in the Kazakhstani market.
According to publicly available sources, MetallStan LLP was registered in May 2012 and is engaged in wholesale trade of a wide range of goods. The company's tax payments amounted to 9.29 million tenge in 2023 and 6.4 million tenge in 2024.
It should be noted that in October 2024, these companies were also added to the U.S. and UK sanctions lists.
