Tengrinews.kz – The Ministry of Healthcare has provided an update on the current epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan.
According to the Committee of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control, the epidemiological situation regarding acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) in the country remains stable.
"In the past week, 185,594 cases of ARVI were recorded in the republic, which is at the same level as the previous week. Since the beginning of the current epidemic season, 3,362,202 cases of ARVI have been registered in the country. Compared to the same period last year, there has been a 20 percent decrease in incidence—the same period of the previous epidemic season saw 3,896,252 cases," the Ministry of Healthcare assured in response to an editorial inquiry.
Regarding new types of viruses, the committee reported that none had been detected.
"The seasonal increase in ARVI cases is recorded annually from October to April. Every year, during the epidemiological season, 4 to 5 million cases of ARVI are registered in the country. In January 2025, 647,299 cases of ARVI were recorded, and in February—686,522 cases," the statement said.
