Around one thousand students have gathered in Almaty to support Kazakhstan athletes participating in the 22th Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Even the weather favored the mass support on the opening day of the Olympics: it has finally become a little warmer in Almaty after a long streak of cold days and frosty nights.

The Center for Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle initiated the student event.

Kazakhstan is represented by 52 sportsmen at this Olympic Games.
