Festive Military Parade of Vostok Regional Command was held at the Central Square of Semey in honor of Kazakhstan Defenders’ Day, Tengrinews.kz reports. More than one thousand military personnel took part in the parade. “Today we have demonstrated strength and power of Vostok Regional Command, particularly of Semey military post. Similar festive parades were held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ayagoz and Usharal,” Samat Tolepbayev, deputy Commander for Pedagogical, Social and Legal Work of Vostok Regional Command, said. Military equipment that was exhibited next to the building of city’s Akimat attracted citizens’ attention most of all. “Mostly this are wheeled vehicles of missile and artillery forces. It is powerful weaponry that is capable of hitting targets 120 and 70 kilometers away. We have demonstrated them so that people can see the fire power of Kazakhstan’s Army,” Tolepbayev said and added that some of the vehicles were exhibited for the first time. The First Military Parade in the history of Kazakhstan and its Armed Forces was held at the 40th military base Otar in Zhambyl oblast on May 7. The parade involved the total of 7 thousand militarymen, over 400 vehicles and over 80 aircrafts and helicopters. The event also included a live video broadcast from the Caspian Sea and the spectators could watch salvos made by Kazakhstan Navy.
