Highly poisonous chemicals stolen from Aktobe plant

5 tons of packed chrome anhydrate were stolen from the chrome compositions plant in Aktobe, Channel 31 reports. 4 people are suspected of the crime. They managed to involve the plant's employees. The guard turned off the surveillance camera at night and the plant's loader helped to take the hazardous goods out. The cost of the stolen chemicals is over 5 million tenge ($34 thousand). According to the experts the chemical may be used for creation of explosives. Three of the criminals were apprehended. One is still avoiding police. Kazakhstan National Security Commission got involved in the investigation. Chrome anhydrate is extremely poisonous. The lethal dose for a human is 0.1 grams. Besides, this is quite an active chemical. If mixed with organic substances, it is can cause fires and explosions. It flares up petrol at room temperature. Getting in contact with skin, it causes bad irritation, eczemas and dermatitis; it can also cause skin cancer.
