Tengrinews.kz - The Head of State received the European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Sikela, according to a statement from Akorda.
Welcoming the High Representative of the European Union, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan attaches priority importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation with the European Union, an important foreign economic and investment partner of our country.

"Kazakhstan remains a key partner of the European Union in Central Asia, and the agreement on enhanced partnership and cooperation creates a solid foundation for deepening our multifaceted interaction," the Head of State said.

In turn, Jozef Sikela thanked the President for the opportunity to meet and noted that the European Union pays great attention to the region.
"This is my first significant mission as Commissioner for International Partnerships. It is no coincidence that I have decided to visit all five Central Asian countries. This clearly confirms the European Union's intention to ensure deeper and more sustainable cooperation with Kazakhstan and other states in the region," the European Commissioner said.
The interlocutors discussed a number of practical issues on the bilateral agenda, with an emphasis on the implementation of existing and new economic projects to develop transport corridors, logistics infrastructure, sustainable energy, and digital solutions.
They also exchanged views on current issues on the regional and global agendas. They confirmed their mutual readiness to further coordinate approaches in the international arena, including within the framework of the Central Asia - European Union format.
