Tengrinews.kz - The Almaty akimat (local government administration) and maslikhat have commented on the possibility of switching to a "local time zone."
According to the akim’s (governor) office, no discussions are currently underway regarding a new working schedule.
"There have been no requests from residents, public figures, deputies, or other citizens regarding this issue," the administration stated in response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz.
Similarly, the Almaty maslikhat reported that it has not received any proposals to change the working hours of local businesses, government agencies, or other institutions.
"This issue is not scheduled for discussion at the next session. At the same time, we note that, in accordance with the Labor Code, the duration of the working day, start and end times, and break periods are determined in accordance with workplace regulations, labor contracts, and collective agreements," the maslikhat’s response read.
Earlier, the Astana akimat also addressed the topic of switching to a "local time zone."
