Pilot of Kazakhstan team Astana Arthur Ardavichus explained the failure at the forth stage of Dakar race with excessive caution, Tengrinews.kz reports. “We are still caring about the truck. There are still ten days ahead. Right now these 5. 10 or 15 minutes are not important. It is more important to save the vehicles. The special part was very difficult. But that’s what we wanted. We are strong and cheerful. It will be more interesting further,” Ardavichus said. Navigator of the team Aleksei Kuzmich noted that there had been no problems with navigation at Dakar so far, but the drivers were getting tired already: “They hit their backs and livers so much. It’s terrible.” According to the crew’s mechanic Nurlan Turlybayev, Astana truck is in a good condition: “Yes, there is some shaking, but I’m sure the reason is insignificant. We will find and eliminate it in the nearest time.” Astana is ranked 5th in general classification after the four stages of the race. Kazakhstan team is 13 minutes 3 seconds behind the leader, Dutch racer De Rooy. Kazakhstan team headed by Denis Berezovskiy in offroaders category is ranked 116th out of 119 cars. The fifth stage of Dakar will be held today, January 5, between Argentinean cities of Chilecito and Fiambala.
