Beibut Yeszhanov, head coach of Astana-Arlans Kazakhstan boxing team commented the victory of Kazakhstan boxers over Mexico City Guerrerors and their getting into World Series Boxing semi-finals, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Kanat Islam and Abdelhafid Benchabla have shown their first-rate boxing. Rafik Sultonov and Samat Bashenov disappointed us. I can’t say now what the reason of their defeats was. We were prepared for the heat and high altitudes, however the boxers haven’t accomplished their tasks,” Yeszhanov said. Mexico City Guerreros failed to prepare the heavyweight boxers for both quarterfinal matches, and Kazakhstan fighters got two points without fighting. “When comparing the level of Mexican heavyweight boxers to our heavyweights we were sure that Ruslan Myrsatayev would win. However Istvan Bernad could let us down, so we can say that we were lucky. But in any case we were justly awarded with a victory,” the expert said. Kazakhstan team will fight against Moscow Dinamo on its way to the final of the tournament. Their first match will be held in Astana on March 23 or 24, and the response fight will take place in Moscow on March 30 or 31. Yeszhanov said that the Moscow club has got a definite advantage. “According to the rules the first match will be held in our country, because Moscow team was ranked higher than we were before the play-off. Usually everything becomes clear in the second match, that’s why it will be easier for them tactically. We have fought against Dinamo two times in this season. We have won one match and lost another. We will accurately analyze those fights and prepare the squad. In any case we can’t drop back now. There are the crucial matches ahead of us,” Astana-Arlans coach said. Baku Fires and Dolce & Gabbana Milano Thunder have made another semi-finals pair. Timur Kulibayev, Kazakhstan Boxing Federation president required the victory in the tournament from Astana-Arlans team. Kulibayev said it was a disgrace when the Wolves became second in the last season.
