Equestrian tournaments to be held in Almaty and Astana

The 3rd Sports Tournament of Kazakhstan, the 4th Central Asian Championship and the International Equestrian Sport Tournament for the “President’s Cup’, “World Cup” and “Astana Cup” will be held in Almaty and Astana in the end of June and beginning of July, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. “The tournaments will be held under the patronage of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Akims (Mayors) of Almaty and Astana, the International Equestrian Federation and the National Olympics Commission. These tournaments are very important for preparation for the Opympics-2012,” the Federation’s press-release says. Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Georgia, India, China, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, USA, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Kazakhstan will take part in the tournaments. Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Asian Equestrian Federation Ho Nai Yue (Singapore) and the President of European Equestrian Federation Hanfried Haring (Germany) are expected to attend.
