The first 'methadone baby' has been born in Aktobe, Mgorod.kz reports. The baby boy was born to a man who used to take drugs but it gave up and replaced it with methadone (a synthetic substitute of heroine). The doctors have made no comments on the health of the child whose father had replaced heroine with methadone. But the oblast's dependency clinic has stated that the child’s mother is absolutely healthy and has never had a drug addiction. According to the clinic’s senior doctor Balzada Murzatleuova, 25 Aktobe citizens participating in the program called Lowering harm from drugs are currently using methadone, 16 of them are employed. They also include two couples. They all used to take hard drugs before December 2012.
