International Day for Protection of Children was celebrated by a twins parade in Pavlodar, Tengrinews.kz reports.
The parade was participated by over 200 twins. Many of the twins wearing similar clothes and similar haircuts were indistinguishable one from another: even parents confused them sometimes. “This year we decided to make the traditional celebration of the international children protection day more creative and hold the first festival of twins, opening it with a parade of 232 twins aged 4 to 10,” head expert of Pavlodar oblast education department Aigul Sabinova said.
There are currently 764 twins in the region, she said. Over 200 of them attend to kindergartens. “An increase in the birth rate of twins has been registered in the last years. 85 twins and 3 triplets were born last year,” Sabinova said.
Meanwhile, the plan is to make the twins festival a tradition in Pavlodar, as well as create to a twins club. “The idea is interesting and we are currently working on it. We think that not only children, but adults will want to join the club,” the festival’s organizers said.
