Tengrinews.kz – A South Korean low-cost airline has launched a new flight route between Almaty and Seoul.
Flights have been available since April 7, as Eastar Jet, a new budget airline from South Korea, entered the Kazakh aviation market.
“The airline operates direct, regular passenger flights on the Seoul – Almaty route twice a week,” the Ministry of Transport's press service reported.
The ministry noted that in March 2024, the aviation authorities of the two countries agreed to expand the legal framework and approved carriers for regular flights.
Interestingly, in early April, Saltanat Tompieva, Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee, named the low-cost airlines expected to enter the Kazakh market in 2025. These include South Korean carriers T’way and Eastar Jet, India’s SpiceJet, and Thailand’s AirAsia X. More details available via the link.
