Today when speaking at a solemn meeting to celebrate the 21th anniversary of the nation’s independence, Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has called Kazakhstanis to learn Kazakh, Russian and English languages. “The state is taking measures to develop the three languages. We should appreciate Russian language as a long-time advantage of the Kazakhs. It is through this language that we got an access to the global culture and global science. We are still widely using it”, President said. “Each Kazakhstani should make a break-through to master English language to gain new limitless opportunities”, President stressed. He emphasized that “apart from Kazakh language, we will be maintaining favorable conditions to develop languages, cultures and traditions of all ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan (…) I want to reiterate there should be no language discrimination”. President reminded that “representatives of all ethnic groups of Kazakhstan have contributed to the nation’s development, and nobody (…) is allowed to ignite interethnic discords”. “Peaceful coexistence of all ethnic groups, accord and peace should be main guiding principles for all Kazakhstanis (…) Any person willing good for his or her nation shall not hurt feelings of other ethnic groups”, he summed up.
