Official Kazakhstan car dealers sold 4,025 light vehicles in August 2011, which is 95.8 percent higher than the last year’s value, Tengrinews.kz reports citing results of the market review by Qncepto consulting company.
According to the research, despite of a decrease in production at local car-manufacturing plants, sales of new cars in August exceeded the values of July 2011 by 5.8 percent. The company notes that 76 percent of the stated increase is made of the cars manufactured in Kazakhstan and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).
“In the 8 months from the beginning of the year sales in Kazakhstan made 25,026 cars, which is 106.26 percent higher than in the same period of 2010. Sales in January-August have already exceeded the sales in 2010: they made 21,560 cars,” the review stated.
Meanwhile, the consulting company noted that Hyundai, Lada and UZ-Daewoo brands made a significant contribution to the growth in August. Daewoo, Hyundai, Lada, KIA and ZAZ are among the top ten best sold brands. Toyota Corolla is only 10th in this list. Land Cruiser Prado is 14th. It is followed by Nissan Qashqai.
