Mass tree planting started in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Almaty Department of Natural Resources and Natural Use Regulation. 27 thousand trees and bushes are to be planted at the cost of the local budget. The trees include 2,716 deciduous trees, 1,365 conifers and 16,410 bushes at the total cost of 174.5 million tenge ($1.2 million). Restoration tree planting works in Medeu natural park also started on October 15. The total planting area at the territory hit by the storm will make 51.4 hectares. 4,218 deciduous trees will be planted there: birches, ash trees and osiers.
