Karaganda and Schuchinsk-Borovoye resort area will be included into Astana agglomeration in future, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov as saying at the 4th International Investment Forum AstanaInvest-2013. Speaking about Astana’s development, the Prime-Minister stressed that the capital was developing along the City of Future concept based on smart solutions and technologies. “Development of Astana provides for development of the agglomeration zone that will add Karaganda and Schuchinsk-Borovoye resort area in future,” he said. Schuchinsk-Borovoye resort area is located 260 km from Astana and Karaganda is located 220 from Astana. Kazakhstan has a population of 16 million people and a territory the size of Western Europe. In general, according to the PM, Astana agglomeration has a vast potential to become an international center of competitive goods and services: educational, medical tourist and innovative products and etc. In this relation, the Prime-Minister called foreign partners to actively invest in development of the Kazakhstan capital. “Support to business initiatives, further improvement of business climate and expansion of the state-private partnership are the priority directions of the government’s activities. We are open and ready to consider business initiatives and suggestions from the business community. We invite businesses and investors to interact and cooperate,” Akhmetov said adding that Astana has got what it takes to become the driving force of economic modernization and implementation of the advanced innovative solutions.
