Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Internal Affairs has shared plans for further improving the regulations regarding the use of electric scooters.
According to the department, relevant amendments to the legislation are currently being prepared.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs will work on the issue of further legislative regulation of scooter use, which will be presented for public discussion after the amendments are formulated,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs responded to a request from Tengrinews.kz.
Additionally, to address the issues related to the use of these devices and to ensure a proper level of safety while using them, local authorities, as the authorized bodies in the field of road infrastructure, have been recommended to plan for the establishment and expansion of bicycle lanes and paths in urban areas.
Earlier, Igor Lepekha, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, discussed the potential ban on e-scooters in Kazakhstan.
