According to the Ministry of Culture and Information, the graphic design service was indeed blocked at the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"Access to the Canva service was blocked by the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. After violations were checked, they have been rectified. The service will be unblocked shortly," stated the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information.
The specific violations that led to the blocking of the international graphic design service were not disclosed.
A few days ago, Canva became inaccessible in Kazakhstan, with users reporting that both the desktop and mobile versions of the application were down. However, some users noted that the service was still functional through VPN.
It seems that even the developers at Canva were puzzled by the app's unavailability in Kazakhstan.
"Our engineers are working on a solution, and we will keep you updated. You can visit Canvastatus.com for news. Thank you for your patience and understanding," the company stated in response to complaints on their official Instagram page.
