More than 800 thousand women are infertile in Kazakhstan. Director of Scientific Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of Almaty city Talgat Kudaibergenov told Tengrinews. "18%, 600 thousand out 4 million women of reproductive age, are infertile in Kazakhstan. The main causes are inflammatory conditions, endocrine factors and tumors," Talgat Kudaibergenov said at the press-conference of the Woman's Healthcare campaign. According to him, most of the women in Kazakhstan don't go to see the doctor regularly and that aggravates the situation. "If a woman has a regular sex life with her husband for one year and they are both of reproductive age, but she doesn't become pregnant, that means that she is infertile. Our women tend to wait for three, four or even ten years before seeing a doctor about this problem," Talgat Kudaibergenov said. According to the Ministry of Healthcare, more than 317 thousand women passed screening for pretumor conditions and breast cancer during the first 9 months of 2013 as part of the Woman's Healthcare campaign. 34 thousand cases of pathologies - 348 cases out of them cancer - were diagnosed. 340 thousand women were examined for pretumor conditions and cervical cancer. 16 thousand cases of pathologies, including 112 cancer cases, were revealed.
