The search for the helicopter with three passengers onboard that went off radars lasted for a whole night in South-Kazakhstan oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the regional Emergency Situations Department. Eurocopter-130 owned by South Oil company went off radars on August 18 near Lenger town. The dispatcher of Shymkent airport said that all contact with the helicopter was lost. 87 people were dispatched on the search operation. They included the rescuers, near-border officers and representatives of KazAviaSpas from Kyzylorda. It turned out in the morning that the helicopter with a pilot and three passengers was standing safely near Makpal lake in Tolebi region. The helicopter could not take off because of a battery failure. Mi-17 helicopter was dispatched to the site to evacuate the people. It landed in Shymkent airport at 09:10 a.m. No casualties were reported.
