Tengrinews.kz - The Head of State held a meeting of the Security Council, according to a statement from Akorda.
A regular meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the chairmanship of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The results of the implementation in 2024 of the Action Plan for National Security Risk Management for 2021-2025, adopted for the implementation of the National Security Strategy, were reviewed.
The government and heads of a number of relevant government agencies presented information on the achievement of key indicators. Issues requiring further development were discussed, including in the areas of public, economic, environmental, and information security.
"The President emphasized that the implementation of the National Security Strategy should be assessed based on specific results that are significant for society. At the same time, the development of almost all areas should take into account the security factor of citizens and the state as a whole. Also, during the meeting, topical issues of countering terrorism and extremism were discussed," the Akorda statement said.

The Chairman of the National Security Committee Yermek Sagimbayev reported on the measures taken to reduce the risks of terrorist and extremist manifestations and strengthen anti-terrorist security.
"Following the meeting, specific instructions were given to government agencies," the Akorda press service noted.
It should be noted that in February of this year, during a meeting of the Security Council chaired by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, issues of army modernization and improvement of military infrastructure were considered. At that time, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions on the further development of the Armed Forces.
The Security Council coordinates the activities of government agencies, law enforcement, and special state bodies in implementing measures related to national security, the country’s international standing, defense capabilities, legality, and public order. It also reviews legislative proposals and oversees the execution of regulatory documents within its jurisdiction.
The President of Kazakhstan serves as the chairman of the Security Council, and its composition is determined by the head of state.
