Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a meeting of Kazakhstan’s Security Council, according to a statement from Akorda.
The session focused on the modernization of the army and the improvement of military infrastructure.
"The Head of State issued a number of specific instructions for the further development of the Armed Forces," Akorda's press service stated.
At a recent Security Council meeting, the president had also given several directives to the government and relevant state bodies regarding the enhancement of the country’s military organization.
The Security Council coordinates the activities of government agencies, law enforcement, and special state bodies in implementing measures related to national security, the country’s international standing, defense capabilities, legality, and public order. It also reviews legislative proposals and oversees the execution of regulatory documents within its jurisdiction.
The President of Kazakhstan serves as the chairman of the Security Council, and its composition is determined by the head of state.
Previously, the heads of the Security Councils of Kazakhstan and Russia met in Astana.
