Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Almaty, Shymkent, and several other cities across different regions of the country.
"On March 18, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Atyrau, Shymkent, and Almaty," the statement reads.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions involve a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, weak wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (pollutant) substances in the lower atmospheric layer.
Weather in Almaty
On March 18, Almaty will experience partly cloudy weather with no precipitation. The southeast wind will blow at 3-8 meters per second. The temperature will be 5-7°C at night and 17-19°C during the day.
Weather in Shymkent
Shymkent will have light cloud cover with no precipitation. The southeast and south wind will blow at 3-8 meters per second. The temperature will be 5-7°C at night and 23-25°C during the day.
