Two-time Olympic champion Sheilla Castro from Brazil said that she liked Almaty's local food, Vesti.kz reports. This is not her first time in Kazakhstan. She already played in Almaty two years ago. "I liked the local food very much. The conditions and atmosphere were very good. And people were very nice there," the athlete said. Sheilla is one of the most popular volleyball professionals in world. She arrived in Kazakhstan's southern city of Almaty as a member of the Brazil national volleyball team for the FIVB World Grand Prix preliminary round. It took the Brazilian team 22 hours to get to Kazakhstan. Eight of the team's twelve players are the current world champions. Beside Brazil, national teams of Cuba, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands are competing in the Group K. The match between Brazil and Kazakhstan took place on August 18 in the Baluan Sholak Palace of Culture and Sports. Kazakhstan lost to Brazil 3-0 in Almaty. Kazakhstan's volleyball team lead by coach Alexander Gutor have already lost in six matches in Italy and Poland during this year's tournament. However, despite multiple losses the team managed to score one point vs. Argentina. The 2013 FIVB World Grand Prix is played by 20 countries and started on August 2.
