Boxing: Golovkin will return to the ring in March 2103

Gennady Golovkin, holder of the IBO belt, who recently defended his WBA middleweight world champion title by knocking out American Gabriel Rosado will hold his next bout in March 2013, Sport.kz reports. Tom Leffler, managing director of K2 promotion company, said that the next bout where Golovkin will defend his title was scheduled for spring. The preliminary date of the match is March 30 and one of European boxing ring will become the venue for the fight, the website reports, referring to Boxingscene. Earlier the Kazakhstan boxer Gennady Golovkin defended his World Boxing Association (WBA) middleweight world champion title. The 30-y.o. boxer fought against 26-y.o. American Gabriel Rosado at Madison Square Garden ring in New York in his first 2013 bout. The Kazakhstan fighter won in the seventh round by technical knock-out. Later on Tengrinews.kz reported that Golovkin got the highest fixed fee among the participants of boxing show that was held on January 19 in New York. Golovkin got $350,000 for his fight while Rosado Rosado got only $150,000.
