Inflation rate in Kazakhstan in the Q1 2011 as compared to the Q1 2010 is the lowest among the CIS states, Novosti Kazakhstan quoted the CIS Interstate Committee for Statistics. According to the Committee, the average inflation rate across the CIS stood at 9.5%, with the Kazakhstan’s rate standing at 8.5%. The highest inflation rate was registered in Kyrgyzstan – 20.3%. Belarus saw consumer prices growth of 12.5%, Tajikistan 12.1%, Armenia 11.1%. With its 9.5%, Russia was followed by Azerbaijan (9.1%), Ukraine (7.7%) and Moldova (6.1%). The Committee gave no details on Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
