Rescuers working at the accident site
There was no interference in the flight of the CRJ-200 plane that crashed near Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Main Transport Prosecutor’s office. “The version of outside interference, i.e. someone’s malicious intent, into the plane’s flight has been excluded. There are currently two versions of the crash: human factor or technical failure of the aircraft,” chief transport prosecutor Ibrai Tleugaliyev said. The inter-authority investigation group led by a special prosecutor of the Main Transport Prosecutor’s office with participation of special prosecutors of Almaty and investigators of the Interior Transport Department initiated a criminal case over the plane crash for violation of flight safety rules that caused deaths. On January 29 the Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed 7km from Almaty airport during the second attempt to land. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing a Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers.
