“The Agreement is well-balanced and takes into due account interests of all the states involved. There were a lot of debates. The reached consensus satisfies all the parties”, President Nazarbayev said at the sitting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Board at the level of heads of state.
“It highlights all the (…) principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, due respect for polity of each of the member states”, he said.
According to him, “signing the agreement marks a new stage of integration within the Eurasian space (…) at all levels, decision-making relies on the principle of consensus, with each of the states having a say. In its staffing policy, the Union bodies will rely on equal representation”, President emphasized.
“All the international agreements within the Union and binding rulings of its Committee shall be done in Russian language and be further translated into languages of the other member states. There will be no discrimination in terms of languages”, he said.
“I want to emphasize once again that the Agreement is targeted at raising living standards and welfare of the member states (…) the launch of the Union will be a great incentive to develop and modernize our economies and to bring the member states up to leading positions in the world”.
