Tengrinews.kz - A foreign national was detained by the National Security Committee (NSC) at Astana International Airport while attempting to enter the country using a forged Kazakh passport.
The case has been handed over to the police for further action.
According to the NSC, since the beginning of 2024, border officers have prevented 198 attempts to use invalid or foreign passports at border checkpoints.
The NSC also noted that using forged documents to cross the border is a criminal offense in Kazakhstan.
Earlier, a foreign national was detained at Almaty Airport.
Additionally, a 71-year-old German citizen was recently detained at Turkestan Airport for holding dual citizenship of Kazakhstan and Germany
