Astana-based Nazarbayev University will offer special programs for Zhanaozen-based businessmen, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vice Minister of Economic Development and Trade Marat Kussainov. January 10 at a Government’s sitting Mr. Kussainov unveiled a draft program to develop Zhanaozen before 2020, notably a program to support S&MBs; in the town in 2012-2014. “Plans are afoot to launch a business incubator in Zhanaozen. Nazarbayev University will offer education opportunities to owners of S&MBs; on an annual basis; besides, foreign internship opportunities will be offered”, according to Mr. Kussainov. With regards to employment opportunities in the city, the Vice Minister elaborated that “efforts will be taken to create new jobs through investment projects to spur oil service industry (…) Secondly, a special plan will be implemented to support entrepreneurship through loans extended at generous 0.1% to for the affected [in the public unrest actions] businessmen to replenish their floating assets. Damu State-run Fund for Business Support is already working on formalizing the procedures”.
