Kazakhstan national ice hockey team won 7:0 against Lithuania in the World Ice Hockey Championship in Kiev on April 20, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Ice Hockey Federation. In the first 10 minutes of the first period the Kazakhstan team's Talgat Zhailauov and Yevgeniy Bumagin scored 2:0. In the second twenty minutes Kazakh players intensified their attacks and Bumagin managed to land his second goal. On the 30th minute Konstantin Romanov delivered the fourth puck. The final result of the game was 7:0 with the last three goals scored by Talgat Zhailauov, Maksim Khudyakov and Roman Starchenko. The game agains Lithuania was the easiest one for Kazakhstan team in the World Championship in Kiev. Earlier the team won against Estonia (5:1) and Great Britain (2:1). The next game was played on April 21 against Poland. Kazakh national men’s ice hockey team head coached by Andrei Khomutov is currently ranked 17th in the world. It reached its highest IIHF ranking (11th) in 2006. The 2011 IIHF World Championship Division I are international Ice Hockey tournaments run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Group A is contested in Budapest, Hungary and Group B is contested in Kiev, Ukraine with both tournaments running from April 17–23, 2011.
