Football: Kazakhstan's youth team wins Island in UEFA qualifications

Kazakhstan national youth football team has won over the team of Island at the UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship 2015 qualifications, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. The game was held at the Astana-Arena in the capital of Kazakhstan and ended with the score of 3:2 in favor of the hosting team. Stanislav Lunin of the Kazakhstan team scored the first goal 7 minutes into the game. Five minutes later Roman Murzatayev doubled Kazakhstan's advantage. Holmbert Fridjonsson (60th minute) and Hjörtur Hermannsson (67th minute) of Island team returned the goals to Kazakhstan and evened the score in the second half of the game. However, Islambek Kuat of Kazakhstan's U-21 team nailed the winning goal one minute before the end of the match and made the day for his team. The Kazakhstan national youth football team has 9 points and retains the chance of making it into the finals of the tournament. Kazakhstan will face the French team, the leader of the group with 18 points, in their last qualification game in September. The UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship (also known as the UEFA Euro U-21s) is a football competition organised by the sport's European governing body, UEFA. It is held every two years. The competition has existed in its current form since 1978.
