Denis Ten came fifth at Skate America Grand Prize in Ontario

Kazakhstan ice skater Denis Ten came fifth in Grand Prize Skate America that was held in Ontario, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing International Skating Union's official website. The 18-year-old skater gained 197.98 points and managed to outrun experienced sportsmen from Japan, France and Italy. Czech Mikhal Brezina became the Grand Prize gold medal winner among men, Belgian skater Kevin van der Perren was second, Japanese Takahiko Kozuka was third. American Alissa Czisny was the best among women, Italian Carolina Kostner came second and Sweden Viktoria Helgesson became the bronze winner of the tournament. The current world champions Aliona Savchenko and Robin Sholkovy from Germany were top in pairs skating. They managed to move up from the fifth place which they had after their short program. The Chinese pair Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao came second, Canadian Kirsten Moore-Towers and Dylan Moscovitch were third. The world champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White were the best among dance pairs. They got ahead of French pair Natali Peshala and Faben Burza with a significant breakaway. Lithuanian pair Izabella Tobias and Deividas Stagniunas managed to came third.
