11-y.o. Kazakhstan figure skater Elizabeth Tursynbayeva competed in Christmas meetings Skating Tournament in Moscow on December 29-30, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Astana Department of Tourism, Physical Education and Sport press-office. Tursynbayeva won Kazakhstan Skating Championship leaving far behind her rivals before participation in the Moscow tournament. Earlier Kazakhstan had the best standing in Irina Rodnina's (ten-time world champion) Prize Tournament. Irina Rodnina, three-time Olympic champion personally awarded Tursynbayeva with a gold medal. Tursynabayeva won a bronze medal in the beginning of December this year in NRW Trophy-2011 Tournament that was held in German Dortmund. She had to compete with 46 skaters from 12 countries in her age group. She came sixth after the short program and second after the free skating program. Kazakhstan skater is now training in Moscow under the guidance of Yelena Vodorezova, who trained Denis Ten, another famous Kazakhstan sportsman earlier. Astana Department of Tourism, Physical Education and Sport officials said that other countries had already invited Tursynabyeva to change citizenship. However, Kazakhstan skater is planing to continue defending Kazakhstan flag colors in future.
