At 8 p.m. Astana time most of the regions of Kazakhstan completing voting in the elections of the Majilis (lower chamber of the Parliament) and Maslikhats (local representative authorities). The Central Election Commission announced beginning of vote counting, Tengrinews.kz reports. Western regions of Kazakhstan are going to finish voting at 9 p.m. Astana time because of the time difference. As of 6 p.m. voter turnout in Kazakhstan made 71,98% (6.694.199 people). Here is a layout of voter turnout by area: 40.31 percent in Astana, 29.15 percent in Almaty, 77.96 percent in Akmola oblast, 74.7 percent in Aktobe oblast, 91.29 percent in Almaty oblast, 83.52 percent in Atyrau oblast, 76.9 percent in East Kazakhstan oblast, 79.44 percent in Zhambyl oblast, 71.2 percent in West Kazakhstan oblast, 73 percent in Karaganda oblast, 84.7 percent in Kostanay oblast, 80.82 percent in Kyzylorda oblast, 62.4 percent in Mangistau oblast, 70.5 percent in Pavlodar oblast, 79.68 percent in North Kazakhstan oblast, 78.62 percent in South Kazakhstan oblast.
