Marat Tasmaganbetov has been appointed the new Akim (Mayor) of Petropavlovsk city in northern Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports.

Marat Tasmaganbetov has been appointed the new Akim (Mayor) of Petropavlovsk city in northern Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports.

Before getting the new appointment Tasmaganbetov had been working as the Akim of Gabit Mussrepov District in North Kazakhstan Oblast for 8 years. 

Tasmaganbetov replaced Tulegen Zakaryanov as the city's Mayor. Tulegen Zakaryanov, who served in the position since May 2013,  resigned on October 1 for family reasons.

Introducing the new Mayor, the Akim of North Kazakhstan Oblast Yerik Sultanov congratulated him on the appointment and wished him success in his new position.
