Executive managers of oil and gas industry had the highest wage of 1212 million tenge ($8.2 million) in 2011, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Kazakhstan Statistics Agency's press-office. These wages are 5.7 times higher than the average salary of managers throughout the country. Average and highly qualified oil industry workers' salaries made 218 000 tenge ($1473) and 349 000 tenge ($2358), respectively, in 2011. Pilots, transport engineers and drilling engineers had monthly salaries ranging from 468 thousand to 497 thousand tenge ($3162-$3400) in 2011. Job safety engineers, oil&gas; production workers and technical supervisors were among the most highly-paid workers: 390 thousand to 415 thousand tenge, ($2635-$2805). The average wages of air traffic workers made 186 000 tenge per month ($1256). Finance and insurance specialists got 172 000 tenge ($1162) per month. The highest wage of 238 000 tenge ($1608) in the construction industry belonged to high qualification managers. IT specialists got 179 000 tenge ($1210) and technicians got 121 000 tenge ($818) in 2011. Tractor drivers got the highest salary of 86 000 tenge ($581) in the agricultural sector. Stock farmers got 80 000 tenge (541$). Facilities cleaners, ship-shearers got the lowest salary in the farms: 17 thousand 23 thousand tenge per month ($115-$155). Women's salary was lower than those of men in all professions and positions. Wages of men who work as managers amounted to 266 000 tenge ($1797), economists – 155 000 tenge ($1047), lawyers 114 000 tenge ($770), IT specialists - 106 000 tenge ($716), accountants - 109 000 tenge ($737). It is 1.8 times higher than the average salaries of women in the same areas. Ship-shearers and workers of agriculture, forestry and fishery got the lowers salaries of 17 000 tenge ($115). Heads of oil and gas production plants got the highest salaries of 1224 million tenge ($8.2 million). Women who worked as manufacturing industry technicians got the small salaries of 18 000 tenge ($122), and women who work as heads of oil and gas production plants got the high salaries of 802 000 tenge ($5419). Wages rates on the same positions differed from one region to another. Astana and Almaty-based heads of organizations got between 444 thousand and 482 thousand tenge ($3000 – $3257). In Northern Kazakhstan, Eastern Kazakhstan, Almaty and Zhambyl oblasts heads of organizations got from 129 000 to 136 000 tenge ($872 - 919). So, the region-based difference in directors' wages made 3.7 times. The highest wages of economists were recorded in Atyrau oblast (239 000 tenge - $1615). The lowest ones were registered in North Kazakhstan and Zhambyl oblasts (about 60 000 tenge - $405). Doctors' wages differed 1.4 times from region to region : Western Kazakhstan oblast's physicians got 128 000 tenge ($865), while Mangistau oblast's physicians got 94 000 tenge ($635). The average country-wide professors' wages amounted to 77 000 tenge ($520) and it differed from one region to another by 1.6 times. The average kindergarten teachers' salary amounted to 54 000 tenge ($365) with a 1.4 times region-based difference. The average drivers' salary made 72 000 tenge ($487) with an up to 2 times difference depending on the region. Agriculturists salaries made 69 000 tenge ($466) and had 3.5 times difference.
