Board recorder of CRJ-200 to be decoded in 15 days

The blackbox was discovered at the site of the plane crash near Almaty. It will be sent to the Interstate Aviation Commission in Moscow for decoding, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President’s Central Communications Services. Independent experts will be working with the board recorder of the CRJ-200. First deputy Prime-Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev who heads the Government Commission for Investigation of the Plane Crash and Aid said that based on preliminary agreements, results of the decoding would be available in 15 days. He added that experts of the judicial medical examination center had finished their work and identification of the crash’s victims had started. Sagintayev continued that the families would be able to take away the bodies of the victims after their identification. The criminal case had been initiated after the plane crash. Psychological aid is being rendered to the families of the victims. On January 29 a Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed during landing 7km from Almaty airport. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing a Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers. All emergency response teams and the city administration are working at the accident site. Almaty administration will render necessary support in organizing the funerals. By Roza Yessenkulova
