First time ever electro jetigen at The Spirit of Tengri
Electro jetigen was brought to Kazakhstan only couple days ago from Moscow. That is where the unique new instrument was made. The front man of Adlaspan band Nurzhan Toishy invented and designed the modern version of the Kazakh ethnic instrument. He had previously created an electro dombra. The new jetigen differs from the traditional instrument as it can produce a much wider range of sounds. It has 23 strings, with 6 of them placed on a Hawaiian guitar-type neck. It took 12 people and 4 month to make the first ever electro jetigen.
The instrument will be played in concert for the first time at The Spirit of Tengri festival on June 7 in Almaty.
