Kazakhstan tennis player Yaroslava Shvedova was awarded with an apartment in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Tennis Federation. She said that she was very happy to receive such a gift. “Now I will have my own real home in Astana,” Shvedova said. Yaroslava said that before when coming to Astana she had to live in hotels while the office of the Tennis Federation was crowded with her huge bags. On May 29 Shvedova and American tennis player Vania King gained a passage to quarter-finals of Grand Slam Roland-Garros held in France. The third racket of the world Vera Zvonaryova noted a remarkable game of Kazakhstan-American couple. “Yaroslava and Vania complement each other very well. They have their own combinations which they successfully use. They have played with each other long enough. It is hard to play against someone who understand each other so well and know when and where to move, when to tackle, when and who moves to the net,” Zvonaryova said. In 2010 Shvedova coupled with Australian sportsman Julian Knowle passed to the finals of Roland-Garros. None Kazakhstan tennis players reached the Grand Slam finals before.
