Argentina Condors will become the first rival of Kazakhstan's Astana Arlans in the third season of the World Series of Boxing (WSB), Vesti.kz reports. The Argentinian club is ranked fourth in their group with 12 points. The Latin American team prevented Russian Boxing Team from advancing to the playoff by additional parameters in spite of the fact that they scored the same quantity of points. So, the Kazakhstan’s boxers will have to travel to remote Argentina instead of Moscow. Argentina Condors have an interesting fighting statistics: they won three matches, lost six and tied one. In the fifth tour of the tournament both teams' 61kg boxers - Argentinian and Algerian - failed to pass the weigh-in prior to the Argenina-Algeria match. As the result the match consisted of only four fights instead of the usual five. Vesti.kz asked Bolat Mankenov, General Director of Astana Arlans for his opinion about the upcoming match of the first round of the WSB play-off. “It would have been preferable for us to fight one of the European team to avoid such long flights, but there is nothing to be done now. We’ll fight. We have already started training for this match and we are familiar with Argentinean boxing school. One should underestimate such a rival. Only those (of Astana Arlans) who will be in the best shape will travel to Argentina,” Mankenov said. The Astana Arlans – Argentina Condors fight will be held in Argentina on March 23. The following teams will fight in the quarterfinals of the tournament: Azerbaijan Baku Fires vs Ukraine Otamans; Dolce&Gabbana Italia Thunder vs Hussars Poland; British Lionhearts vs Mexico Guerreros.
