Kazakhstan-German fashion show was held in Astana recently, Tengrinews.kz reports. Participants of the fashion event presented their 2013 spring-summer collections. Famous German designers Xenia Zeling and Dandy Zimmerman arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in the 2012Astana Fashion Show. The foreign guests said that they were very impressed with the scale and beauty of the young capital Astana and the fact that everyone they met in the streets was wearing stylish clothes. “The most important thing for us is to broaden our horizons: we know European market well, but we don’t know much about the Oriental market. We have been to Kazakhstan for two days and have found out that your citizens have their own style. It is very important for us because we draw inspiration from different things that surround us.” The German fashion designers didn't have a chance to get to know prominent Kazakhstan couturiers before the show, but they hoped that the show would help them establish contacts with Kazakhstan fashion designers and develop partnerships in future. Young Kazakhstan designers Aigerim Akenova and Dariga Taishikova also demonstrated their 2013 spring/summer fashion collections along with their senior colleagues. In spite of the fact that both girls are quiet young, their collections had strong characters and styles of their own. The fashion show was timed to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relationships between Kazakhstan and Germany. Dr. Guido Herz, German Ambassador to Kazakhstan, was an honorary guest of the 2012 Astana Fashion Show. By Shynar Ospanova
