Yedil Zhanbyrshin was appointed new Akim (Mayor) of Aktau. Earlier he served as head of Mangistau oblast’s department of natural resources and environmental management, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the website of Mangistau oblast administration. “Today oblast Akim (Governor) Baurzhan Mukhametzhanov appointed Yedil Zhanbyrshin Akim of Aktau upon approval of Kazakhstan President’s Administration. Earlier he worked as head of Mangistau oblast department of natural resources and environmental management,” the message states. Yedil Zhanbyrshin, 46, holds a Dr.S. in engineering. He used to work as Director of Aktau branch of Karaganda State University from 2000 to 2007, as well as the chairman of Mangustau oblast social organization called Kazak Tili (Kazakh language). He served as First Deputy Chairman of Nur Otan Mangistau oblast branch from 2007 to 2008 and was elected Maslikhat (local executive body) deputy. From 2008 to 2011 he worked as Director of AsiaTechnoService. His last position was head of Mangistau oblast department of natural resources and environmental management.
