Nazarbayev talked about the impending global crisis of moral values, Tengrinews.kz reports from the 4th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. “The global crisis of moral values is impending. It is obvious how many societies propagate and inoculate pseudo freedoms. They try to promote perverted views on the nature of human relations and imprint them as the standards of the modern society; and motivation towards honest labor is replaced with aspiration for fast gain through any means. Such anti-morality is frequently elevated to the absolute,” Kazakhstan President appealed to the leaders of world and traditional religions. “The growing moral crisis in the world is characterized by aggressive blemishing of servitors of various confessions and attempts to push the religion off to the sidelines of social processes. Manifestations of blasphemous attitude to religious relics are seen in many countries and are aimed at almost all the religions. They include: public burning of holy books, desecration and conflagration of mosques, cathedrals, synagogues and other cultural buildings, defamation of the ministers, massacre and murders of members of religious congregations. Why does this happen? Does it happen because the religion is one of the most solid barriers separating people from earthliness and greediness? At times the religion has remained the only protector of the people’s wisdom of culture and traditions,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said and stressed that Kazakhstan condemned such assaults on the traditional religions. “We strongly condemn such behavior and express our support to all the religious leaders and all the religions in their opposition to the surge of the combative ungodliness,” Nazarbayev said.
