Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Federal President of Austria Heinz Fischer during his visit to Austria, Tengrinews.kz reports citing President’s official website. The message states that the official meeting ceremony in Hofburg Palace was followed by talks of the presidents in narrow and extended formats. The meeting covered prospects of enhancement of political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, as well as the current issues of the international agenda. Kazakhstan President congratulated Fischer on the coming Austria’s Republic Day and wished Austrian people happiness, wealth and prosperity. “It is symbolic that my visit to Vienna take place in the year of the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Austria. Currently development of the bilateral relations between our countries has a positive dynamics. A range of companies with Austrian participation successfully work in Kazakhstan,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said. Austria is one of the top 10 trade partners of Kazakhstan. The commodities turnover increased by 50 percent and exceeded $4 billion in 2011.
