Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Massimov met with Secretary General of Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) and heads of delegations of the organization's economic blocks, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Met with Secretary General of CCTS Halil Akinci and heads of delegations of the economic block,” Karim Massimov tweeted. The meeting was attended by Secretary General of CCTS Halil Akinci, Azerbaijan Minister of Economic Development Shakhin Mustafayev, Turkish Minister of Development Cevdet Yılmaz and Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sanzhar Mukanbetov. The meeting covered financial-economic development of Turkic-speaking countries, enhancement of cooperation in CCTS, as well as interactions in energy and transit-transportation sectors. Besides, Karim Massimov discussed preparation process for the summit of heads of CCTS states. The first Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States will be held on October 20-21 in Almaty. CCTS is a regional organization aimed to enhance the unity of the Turkic people. Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev was the first president to express the idea of creating the CCTS at the Summit of the heads of the Turkic-speaking countries in 2006. This initiative was fixed in the agreement on creation of the new international structure at the forum in Nakhichevan in 2009.
