Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Minister left for Zhanaozen

Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Bozhko left for Zhanaozen, Tengrinews.kz reports. The Minister wrote about his visit to Zhanaozen in his Twitter blog. “Left for Zhanaozen to take part in the government commission,” the Minister tweeted. Clashes in Zhanaozen started on December 16 during celebration of the Independence Day and claimed 16 lives. Over one hundred people were injured. Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree on implementation of the state of emergency in Zhanaozen that was prolonged to January 31.
